Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – 18 September 2025 – Following the FIA’s official announcement of the Extreme H World Cup, Tamgo – The Machinery Group LLC, a Zahid Group company – confirms its appointment as the Official Clean Energy Infrastructure Provider for the event, which will debut in Qiddiya City from October 9–11, 2025.
The event will be preceded by Extreme E’s celebratory Final Lap on October 4–5, 2025, marking a seamless transition from one pioneering motorsport to the next.
Tamgo will deliver advanced hydrogen power solutions and full operational support across both events, enabling motorsport’s first-ever hydrogen World Cup. At the heart of this effort is the AFC Energy 200kW hydrogen-powered, liquid-cooled fuel cell system, supported by a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Distributed exclusively by Tamgo in Saudi Arabia and across 16 regional markets, the system is engineered to perform in demanding environments and will provide clean, dependable, and noise-free power for racing, paddock operations, hospitality, and broadcast.
“Tamgo is honored to power the FIA Extreme H World Cup in Qiddiya,” said Rami Elayan, General Manager. “As the world’s first hydrogen motorsport, Extreme H represents a defining moment for both sport and clean energy innovation. This milestone demonstrates how hydrogen has evolved from supporting individual races to becoming the core energy source for an entire global championship. By providing the clean energy infrastructure, Tamgo is proud to play a central role in showcasing Saudi Arabia’s leadership in sustainable technologies and advancing the ambitions of Vision 2030.”
Extreme H builds on the foundation set by Extreme E, which first introduced hydrogen in 2021 to charge its electric race cars and, by 2024, powered 80% of its event operations. Now, with Extreme H’s debut, the progression will take its hydrogen future to new levels.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Tuwaiq Mountains in Qiddiya City, the FIA Extreme H World Cup will not only excite global fans but also reflect the Kingdom’s bold ambition to be a hub for innovation and clean energy.
Together with its partners, Tamgo is helping to prove that world-class sport can also lead the way in world-class sustainability.
